Prism Chambers is a boutique business law firm in Mauritius, founded in 2019 by dual qualified (England & Wales and Mauritius) former magic circle lawyer Johanne Hague.
The firm specialises in all aspects of revenue law, including tax advisory, transactional tax and tax controversy matters, with a significant cross-border element. We pride ourselves in having a unique approach to dealing with tax matters: combining in-depth expertise in the subject matter with empathy and commitment to addressing the clients’ tax needs and resolving their tax disputes in an efficient and commercially sound manner.
The firm has an excellent market reputation for its tax controversy practice. We represent our clients at all levels of the dispute resolution process, including before the Supreme Court of Mauritius. The managing partner of the firm has also appeared as an expert witness in Mauritius tax laws before the UK’s First Tier (Tax) Tribunal. The firm’s expertise is consistently sought for high profile tax litigation cases on complex cross border matters, including on transfer pricing cases.
We are also regularly instructed to conduct bespoke tax trainings for clients in Mauritius and across the African continent on a variety of international tax topics, such as AEOI (Automatic Exchange of Information) legislation and BEPS (Base Erosion Profit Shifting) updates as well as domestic tax updates.

All the law practitioners at Prism Chambers are admitted to the Bar of Mauritius and are qualified to practise under Mauritian law. The team currently consists of five (5) barristers, one (1) senior lawyer and one (1) legal executive. All members of the firm are well versed in Mauritian law, and use their industry insights, commercial awareness and intellectual rigour in order to provide commercially efficient and robust advice to clients.
